This Privacy Policy describes how KeyNest (“the App”) handles user data. KeyNest is an Android application developed by Hitoshi Ichikawa.

Information We Collect

None.

KeyNest stores all user data, including passwords and credentials, locally on the user’s device. The App does not collect, transmit, or upload any personal information, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or device identifiers to the developer or to any third party.

Information We Share

None.

KeyNest does not share any user data with third parties. Because no data leaves the device, there is no data to share, sell, or disclose.

Data Storage and Encryption

All sensitive data managed by KeyNest is encrypted on the device using AES-GCM. Encryption keys are generated and stored in the Android Keystore system, so they are protected by the hardware-backed key store provided by the Android platform whenever available.

Because data never leaves the device, KeyNest does not maintain any server-side storage or backup of user data.

PassKeys

KeyNest can act as a PassKey provider through the Android Credential Manager API. The private key material for each PassKey is encrypted on the device using AES-GCM, and the encryption key is generated and stored in the Android Keystore system, exactly like the rest of your credentials.

PassKey data — including private keys — never leaves your device. It is not transmitted or uploaded to the developer or to any third party.

KeyNest does not provide any export or backup function for PassKeys. This matches the export-prohibited policy applied to all other credentials, so there is no way to copy your PassKeys off the device.

Children’s Privacy

KeyNest does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
